I recently took a buyer client through a home where the seller not only stayed, but unexpectedly proceeded to escort us through the whole house. The seller tried to point out features, however, the buyers felt like they were intruding and didn’t hear much that was said. The buyers wanted to be polite and so complimented the seller, but kept their true feelings for our chat later. Maybe the seller thought they did a great sales job, but in reality the buyers felt uncomfortable. No, they didn’t make an offer.
When you’re selling your home, I believe it’s better to let buyers walk through with their Realtor. They need to be able to pictures themselves living there That’s when they’ll want to make an offer. Dear seller, you may make potential buyers uncomfortable by your mere presence. You want buyers to look at your house, not you.
